St Andrew's Church, Caversham

Groups and Activities (in no particular order)

Worship- There are numerous individuals and groups who contribute to our regular worship, including musicians, servers, sidesmen, flower ladies, church cleaners, readers, chalice assistants, verger, sacristan. We can always find something for you to do!

Choir- The adults' choir rehearses on Sunday afternoons 3.30-4.15pm. If you would like to sing, come along and say hello.

Children's Choir- Minimum age 7. Rehearsals most Sundays.  Details here.

Social events- organised by the social committee- see parish calendar

The Fisherman café- a café open on Thursday afternoons in the small church hall- Click here to find out more about The Fisherman.

Concerts in Caversham- approximately quarterly, concerts of the highest standard, given by professional musicians, in the church. Click here for more details.

Tiddlers- babies, toddlers and you. Tiddlers takes place in the church every Friday morning during term-time. From 9.30am coffee, play time and songs. All welcome!

Messy Church- Currently occasional only. Check the calendar or email the vicar to be added to the mailing list. All welcome! For more info see here and www.messychurch.org.uk.

Children's Church - CURRENTLY PAUSED. The few children in church on Sundays -usually no more than 6- have other activities in the main church. Previously, and we hope again, Children's Church is open to children above three years of age: after everyone has gathered in the church at 10 o'clock, the Children's Church goes to the hall for their own activities, then join everyone else for communion or a blessing towards the end of the service.

Mothers' Union- The St. Andrew’s branch of the Mothers’ Union has regular meetings, social events, speakers and outings- see parish calendar. We are open to all. The Mothers’ Union is a worldwide Christian organisation committed to supporting marriage and family life. We usually meet every first Tuesday at 2pm in the church.

Meditation/Prayers for Peace - every Saturday 9-9.30am

The Ministry of Healing We have regular prayers for healing and wholeness, with anointing and the laying on of hands, including after the 10 o'clock service on the last Sunday of the month (unless the calendar indicates otherwise).

Prayer cards- The church delivers prayer cards to all the houses in a road immediately before the week we pray for that road and its residents.

Open Church- The church is open for visitors every day.
